Eastern Redbud, with it's delicate blossoms and buds are one of the season’s earliest and most dramatic springtime displays of beauty and color. The tree’s delicate beauty will grace your yard all year long. This tree is native to the U.S eastern woodlands and blooms in a profusion of rosy pink flowers in April. Year-round appeal comes from heart-shaped leaves that emerge a reddish color, turning dark green in summer and then yellow in the fall. The delicate shape and graceful crown will continue to add interest long after her leaves have fallen. Eastern Redbud is also easy to maintain with very minimal pruning required.
Easter Redbud is highly attractive to early pollinators, songbirds and other animals. The flowershave long been prized for their culinary properties, and the bark for it's medicinal ones. The wood is also prized for it's strength and durability.
